Tarchon ran a non-statutory consultation from 00:01 Friday 3rd July to 23:59 Thursday 13th August 2026. This included five in-person events and one webinar. Local residents, businesses and community groups were able to learn more about the Tarchon Interconnector Project directly from the project team, supported by maps and informative banners, all of which were included on the website and touched upon in the webinar (also uploaded onto the website), to allow viewers to provide feedback.

The proposed Tarchon Project will create a direct power link between the UK and Germany. By connecting the two energy markets, it will increase energy security and reliability, reduce CO² emissions and help to reduce energy costs.

All the feedback we received is being used to help shape our proposals. As a next step, the Project team will continue to consider feedback alongside results of environmental assessments, landowner engagement, and further technical refinement of the scheme. This work will feed into the Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR), expected to be published in Q3/Q4 2027.

Feedback from every phase of consultation will be brought together in a Consultation Report/Summary, which will be submitted as part of our DCO application.

The project will continue to consider the need to hold further consultations to seek your views on our more detailed proposals.
