Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has entered into a Share Purchase Agreement for the sale of 100% of its shareholding in the Tarchon Project to WindGrid (part of Elia Group) and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (“CPP Investments”) (see press release).
Tarchon is an important project for WindGrid and CPP Investments and demonstrates joint commitment to investing in strategic transmission infrastructure. The project builds upon their existing presence in Germany and the UK, which are core markets for both Elia Group and CPP Investments. CPP Investments brings global investment capabilities and Elia Group brings expertise in designing, building and operating complex transmission systems.
The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2026 subject to regulatory and closing conditions. Until completion, the Tarchon Project will continue to be managed, developed and funded by CIP.
